THE CANAL TREATY.
BRITISH VIEW ACCEPTED, By Teleeraph—Press Association—Copyright New York, July 18. The Washington correspondent of "The Times" states that the Government will accept Britain's interpretation' of the Hay-Pauncefote Treaty and will 'impose equal toils on Americans and foreigners.
TWO MILLIONS IN FOREIGN TOLLS. (Roc. July 19, 10.30 p.m.) v . Washington,. July 19. Senator Brandegee, President o£ tho Senate's Canal Committee, has Btated that the question of tolls need not retard the vote on tho administrative features of tho Panama Canal Bill. Ho lias submitted to tho Senate an estimate showing that foreign dhips will pay about 10 million dollars (.£2,000,000) por annum in tolls. Senator Stone showed that if the Haguo Tribunal decided against tho United States the Government would bo compelled to lefund 45 million dollars (J. 9,000,000) to tho foreign shipowners.
