Parliament would be sit-" ting then: It was subsequently found that Parliament. would not be in &e<sion ,at that time, and as a result the conference was postponed.until.July 30 and 31. Owing to the sitting-of-Parliament being deferred., on 'account of !'he recent political 'changes, the secretary of the Nelson Dis-trict-Fruitgrowers' Association. Mr. P. G. Mnffott, fent the following telegram to the secretary of the New Zralahd Fviiit-'srow-erf.' Feilexation, which is the executive body, for the arrangements fnr the conference, . wit'h headquarters at Hastings: "Nnlscn district suggests postponing: conference middle cf August, judge from! infofm-ition available may not bo ablo interview Ministers till then. Thus object holding conference at Wellington would bo abortive." To this feloVram tho'following reply- was received: "Cnnferenci- furthsr pcslpcned till -August 20.'
