ANOTHER CITY BURGLARY.
AND A SMART ARREST. At about 9.35 o'clock last evening, Gobi stable Smart, on duty in Willis Stfcot, noticed two men emerge from tho front door of the premises of V. Cooper, Ltd seed merchants, at tho corner of Willis and Mnrcer Streets. Ho ncco&tud them, and asked what they had been doing inside, when one of the men, who whs not known, mado a bolt and cleared off. Con. stable Smart immediately mado a misonei' of tho other one, who protested that Iμ worked on tho promises. On thn arrival of Sergeant lvelly, tho shop waa entered, when it was found that tbfl drawer of tho cask register had biH-n forced open, and what money had been loft there—a low coppers only—had been taken, and tho whole plaeo ransacked, prosumably for anything of value. Tho arrested man is John Albert Corbet, a yoiuig man only twenty-one yciii's of age, who described himself as a kiocer's assistant, o.ud stated that ho reside! at Brooklyn. On being; searched, o chisol was found in one of hie pockets. Ho hill be charged with breaking and entering; before the. Stipendiary Magistrate Uiii morning. Credit is due to Constable Smart for his prompt action in soeuriaff his man.
