RACING PERMITS.
THE MINISTERIAL DECISION. The Hon. H. D. 801 l (Minister for Internal Affairs) has finally allocated totalisator permits for the ensuing year. He informed a Dominion reporter yesterday that, in allocating tho 350 racine days which are available, ho had adheren to the allocation of last year, save in re.gard to tho re-establishment of tho Rangitikei Club. Permits will be granted ;o tho same clubs and for tho same meetings, ond same number of days in each cases as lost year, except that two days will bo given to the Rangitikei Club (which was deprived of its racing days by tho Racing Commission). One of tho tw.i days granted to Rangitikei will hi tak n from tho Marten Jockey Club and the ether from tho Canterbury Jockey Club. The Minister stated that his reason f r specially dealing with the Raupitikci and Marten Clubs was that, in a Bill introduced last year on bohnlf of the countrv clubs, a special clause was inserted singling out the case of the Rancitikei and Morton Clubs as one requiring special legislation.
