If the House accepted women's suffrage, the Premier would be bound to use the Parliamentary machinery to effect what ho considered a. disaster. The Prime Minister (11 r. Asquith) repudiated the charge that the Bill was introduced to catch votes. He exposed a. policy which tho Liberals had advocated for thirty years. He 'did not think tho House would stultify itself in reversing its previously-expressed judgment on ( women's suffrage.. .Sir Edward Grey, lord Robert Cecil, and several Liberals, have tabled amendments for tho "admittance of women to tho franchise. •
