Nimrod and Guncap mado the. first move. On leaving the. straight Nimrod lead, with Fulgent, Tinapagee, and Big Bob in that order. On rounding the turn tho order was: Nimrod, Guncap, Fulgent, Myall Jack, United Kingdom. At tho stone wall Nimrod and Quilatchil fell, leaving Myall Jack leading bv a head from Guncap, United Kingdom, Fulgent, and Vanguard. At the last jump Guncap and United Kingdom were together with a clear field and made, a clattering finish. Won by half a length with Scrutineer three lengths away and Bribery and Fulgent in fourth and fifth places. Time, Gmin. 283 sec.' Guncap's time was a record for the race. Only seven, finished, tho balance falling. Four jockej-s were slightly injured. Vanguard injured its neck.
