The Commonwealth Government accepted tenders from the Australasian Wireless Company for the election of some of its stations. The Marconi Company, then alleged that this company was infringing its original basic patents. In December last the Government, which had been awaiting the issue of the protracted litigation between the companies, decided to proceed with a system of its own, which its wireless expert, Mr. ' Balsillie, had devised. Latterly .there has ' been more litigation, tho Marconi .Company having proceeded for an order to allow of its. inspecting tho Commonwealth wireless stations. Hills (New South Wales). The Pennant Hills station is in course of erection for the Commonwealth by tho Australasian Wireless, Limited, and at present no system of wireless telegraphy is bcintt used at Pennant Hills for or on behalf of the Commonwealth. The svstem tho company employs is (I am informed by Mr. Balsillie and believe) known as the Telcfunken system." After further argument, tho case was adjourned till next sittin? of the Court, to enable tho Commonwealth in the meantime to patent its process.
