"I have had many pleasant days on the racecourse in England," said his Lordship, "and many also in Australia, and I hope to be able to continue my pursuit of that engrossing sport in this country." Referring to his experience in tho House of Lords, the Governor-General said he thought politics was one of the finest professions, but it was never so difficult as it was to-day. ;
