Owing to an alteration in the timo of the departure ol tlio train in the afternoon for the Wairarapa district, the mails will close at the Chief Post Office, Wellington, on and after Monday, July 1, at 3.30 p.m., instead of 3.05 p.m. The next best dispatch for United Kingdom and Continent of Europe will, be via Brindisi, closing at Wellington, per Mocraki, on Friday, July 12. at 3.30 p.m. The next best dispatch for Canada, United States of America, Central America, and West Indies will be via ltarotonga, Tahiti, and San Francisco, closing at Wellington, per s.s. Unless otherwise specified, registered letters and parcels-post packages must bo handed in and money-orders obtained one hour before the ordinary mail closes. All the principal , mails by train and steamer close at To' Aro and Courtenay Place Post Offlces at the same hours as at the Chief Post Office, with the exception that there is no late-fee clearance, and that mails by the ferry steamers' for southern offices close at 6 p.m. D.
