The Papnroa Coal Company is having some difficulty up to the present with respect to the new capital, only £18.300 beim; rnibscribed out of £35,000 wanted, and if the latter sum is not subscribed by July 20. "immediate steps must be taken to wind up the company." The unrest amongst the miners, and the de.'rnefis of money, have probably been the main causes of the disinclination shown by the debenture-bolder? anil (shareholders to subscribe for tihe additional capital, but perhaps now that there is n chaurre in the nolitical situation with evidence of returning confidence, the balance of the monicy required will be forthcoming. It would be a very proat pity to see the Paparoa Company collapse, for there is unquestionably a good future before it.
