• A. meeting of the Hull: County Council was held yesterday, there being present Councillors Wakeliam (chairman), tiailowoy, l-Mwnrds, Welch, Whiteman, and Howell. It was reported b.v the inspector ol works (Mr. .1. W. Ciidbv) thai several landslips had occurred in various parts of the county. They were removed, traffic being restored speedily as possible. It was near Mr. Heavis's property at AkaInrawa that the worst slip look place. Upwards of a chain and a half of road had slipped away, carrying everything before it into the river, about 150 ft. below. This slip necessitated the excavation /ol SCO yards of the hillside, in order to obtain'sufficient width of road to permit ol the heavy timber traffic. The Akalariwa Koad was standing the heavy traffic, considering the continuous wet weather. The report was adopted.
