MORE JERSEY IMPORTATIONS.
ANOTHER CONSIGNMENT FOE MR. HAEOESS. Still another valuable addition is to be made to the Jersey herds of the Dominion by Mr. J. G. Harkness, who last year imported some cattle which .have already left their mark in the show ring. The latest order placed by Mr. Harkness is for some valuable heifers. The stock was to have been shipped last month, but the agents cabled recently that something had occurred to delay shipment. Advice.may be received at: any lime-announcing that the animals are on the water.
Two choice samples of the Jersey breed, a yearling bull and an cighteen-month-old heifer, were landed at Auckland last month for Mr. R. G. Lewi?, of Okoroire. Both animals are from Lord Rothschild's herds, the bull being Gate's Tfozql I.nd, a son of Cute, by Kozel's Noble, bred on "the Island," by P. T. Quenanet, but Bold to Lord Eothschild in December last. He is a half-brother to last year's champion cow Cute 11. a picture of which appeared in the National Dairy Show number of Tur, Dominion, published on .Tune 22. The heifer (Bravery) is by Lord Draconis, out of Brass Key, and was bred by Lord Eothschild.
