WELLINGTON PRESBYTERY.
Tho Wellington Presbytery met at St. John's Church last night, tho Rev. B. Hutson, moderator, presiding." A commission in favour of Mr. J. Johnston, of Kelburnc, was sustained.
, It was resolved .to congratulate Dr, Bovie, of Ambrim Hospital, Now Hebrides, a member of. the Presbytery, on obtaining tho degree of Doctor of Tropical Medicine. . '
Consideration was given to various matters remitted from the General Assembly, including reduction of "the expenses of tho Assembly, students' regulations, and regulations for widows' and orphans' fund.'
Ilio Ho_v. J. Gibson Smith reported that tho Welfare of Youth Committee had held a conference with the leaders of Biblo classes, alul that it was proposed to confer with superintendents of Sunday schools along with the leaders of young peoples' societies, so as to co-ordinate the various branches of work among tho youth of tho Church.
The Eev. P. B. leaser, superintendent. oL< Homo Missions, was present, and associated with tho Presbytery. Mr. Fraser, who has. bofen organising this department of the church's activity throughout the North Island, gave a most interesting account of his experience.
