LANCASHIRE DEFEATS AUSTRALIAPOOR SCORING IN SECOND INNINGS. By Teiegrapli-Presj Association-Copyright London, July 5. For the second time this season, Lancashire inflicted defeat on tho Australians, on this Inst occasion by eight wickels. The weather wan dull, the wioket firmer though difficult, when play was resumed to-day. There was an attendance of 3000 spectators. Whttty and Hazlitt began the attook, but when Matthews replaced Hazlitt the combination was disastrous. Thirtysoreii was added to the over-night score. The not-out batsmen (Sharp and E. '.Tyldesley) alone made any stand. Tyldosley played a sound innings of eighty-five minutes' duration. Sharp showed good allround form, his seoro of CO including four 4's. Sharp bad been at the wickets a hundred and forty minutes.
