Tho Labour party intimates that in tho event of three-cornered contests at tho electiops for tho Hanlcy and Cheshire (Crewe) seats' rendered necessary by tho deaths recently of Mr. Enoch Edwards (Labour) and Mr. W. S. B. Maclaron (Liboral) respectively, all the Labour members of tho House of Commons will participate in tho election meetings, their nbsence thus imperilling the Government's position in tho House. (Red July I, 0.15 a.m.) London, July 3. Tho Labour party's ultimatum has caused much ill-feeling amongst Liberals, particularly as it comes just after a number of Ministers and Liberals had supported Mr. O'Grady's motion on Monday in connection with tho transport striko. Tho Liberals adopted Mr. R. Louth-w.-vito as Mioir candidate for Tlanley. The Labour party has decided to support an independent Labonr candidate.
