EVIDENCE AT WANGANUI. (By Telegraph.—Pres» Association.) Wanganui, Jvdy 3. At tho Education Commission to-day, Mr. Luxford, secretary of the Wanganui School Committees' Association, expressed the opinion Hint it would be in the interests of education if all teachers in tho Dominion were transferred from ono school to another every two years, tho cost of transfer being borne by tho State. He also Advocated the centralisation of schools, and the institution of free libraries. Tho Rev. Mr. M'Kcnzie advocated Biblereading in schools. • Mr. Louis Coheu, a member of the University Senate, complained that the teaching of the English langungo was neglected in a shocking manner. Ho also strongly criticised the method of election of education boards. Ho said that members of such boards should bo educated men. The present board was no more fit to deal with educational matters and appointments than a common road board or licensing committee. A large amount of evidence was given by secondary instructors. Tho Commissioners wore entertained at a "social" tonight. Chmtchurch, July 3. At a meeting of the North Canterbury Education Beard complimentary reference was made to tho personnel and methods of tho Education Commission.
