CONCILIATION.
4 THE WELLINGTON- BUTCHERS' DISPUTE. The Wellington Butchers' dispute was lizard before tho Conciliation Commissioner (Mr. P. IIalley) yesterday. Tho representatives were: For tho employers, Messrs. Wm. Wollaud, James Rod, and A. Cheeseman; for tho employees, Messrs. J. W. Dyer, J. Lebhoz, and .A. 11. Cooper. ' • , , , An agreement was arrived at on nearly all points. Tho uages remain as they have been in the past, and arrangements iiavo been come to in respect of hours of labour. What was known as a moat allowance has now been discarded, and "dry" pav to the extent of ss. a week, in addition to ordinary pay, has been given. Arrangements regarding holidays, under-rate workers, and preference have been agreed to. On somn of tho points mentioned the parties wore not able to agree, and a recommendation to tho Arbitration Court on these clauses will bo mndo by tho council. The term of tho award is within a 15-milo radius of tho G.P.0., Wellington.
