A THOUSAND HOMELESS,

Qusbsc, Juno 25. ■A fire in Chicoutimi rendered a thousand homeless, and destroyed 125 buildings, including an ancient cathedral. Tho lire was only checked when four houses had been destroyed by dynamite. No lives were lost. Chicontimi is.a-bu.sy little luiiibcrini; town of about 5000 inhabitants. Among the principal features of the town are the Soman Catholic Cathedral, tho Church of the Eudist Fathers, tlis College, .Sailors' Hospital, and tho convents. The Chicontinu Pulp Mills turn out 70,000 tons of pulp annually, all cf which is shinned to Europe. 1
