New York, June 20. An armed robber, at Stockton, California, who had blackcned his face, held up a river launch containing a pleasure party, and robbed -them of all their valuables. Ho then compelled tho engineman to land all aboard, and went in pursuit of onother launch with the .intention of robbing its occupants.
llus, tho engineman, knocked tho robber overboard, and Iho passengers in Hio boat boat him to death, with oars. Tlio body was subsequently Tecovercd.
