By Tolezraph—Press Association-Copyright (Rec. June 20, 10.25 p.m.) Paris, June 20. While flying at Douai, a town in the Department of Nord, two aeroplanes collided broadside on, with fatal results.
A dense mist caused the aeroplane collision at Douai. The two officers foresaw the disaster and endeavoured to avoid it, but unfortunately both steered upwards. The biplanes fell from a height of 200 feet, with their wings locked together.
Lieutenant Peignian was killed instantly, and Captain Dubois died as his wife reached the aerodrome.
