Juno 19, 9.40 p.m.) London, Juno 19/ Tlio transport strikers aro indignant with Mr. Ben Tillett, the well-known Labour leader und secretary of the Dockers' Union. Mr. Tillett was recognised in a restaurant drinking champagne, and this indulgence in luxury was strongly commented on in view of the great distress prevailing among the men. At a meeting of'strikers at Tower Hill Mr. Tillett was hissed by tho crowd when ho made an explanation justifying tho incident. Ho said: "A rich lady asked mo to dino with her and promised to. feed a thousand of our little children. I should never drink anything except champagne if X oould got it. Nor should you!" ,
A voice from the crowd: "How can we?" Mr. Tillett: "'Pinch' it!" LINERS TO BE BLOCKED. STRIKE COMMITTEE'S PLAN. London, June. 18. Tho Strike Committee states that machinery is being put into operation for tho purpose of blocking all vessels which havo been diverted to Continental or Home ports. Several Atlantic liners have been delayed ot Southampton, where two hundred extra police havo arrived. Outside labour hss also bwn imported.

A hundred thousand children in the Bast End are daily receiving free" meals. '
