SIR J. B. ROBINSON'S CAREER,

Robinson, the South African mine-owner and financier, and chairman of the Robinson South African Hanking Company, received ,£IOOO damages from Mr. Louis Cohen, author of the book, "Reminiscences of Kimberley," and =£109 from Mr. Bennett, the publisher of the book, which alleged that Sir J. B. Robinson's early career was that of a fraudulent dealer, swindler, and coward, Emil James Burger, an impresario, lias been sonfenced to three jwii'a' penal servitude at the Old Bailey, on a charge of perjury in testifying against. Sir J. Robinson concerning an alleged incident in Kiinberlcy iu 1879.
