A half-caste named Conquist was suffering from dementia, and Sergeant Deprez went to take charge of him. Conquist opened the door of his house a little and defied tho police, and poking out a pea ride shot tho sergeant in the groiu. The gergeant "then replied with his revolver, killing Conquiet.
