FRUIT AND VEGETABLES DULL OF SALE. Tho wet weather experienced of lato has doubtless boon the cause- of the dullness of trado reported by retailers, which dullness has been reflected at the Blair ami Allen Street markets in respect to nearly all lines of fruit and vegetables. . On y small lots of citrus fruit are coming to hand from Australia, and the demand is generally dull. However, Juno being the mid-winter month, is about the worst lor the consumption of citrus fruit. Island oranges are plentiful, shipments being in excess of requirements. \ alues are from 3.5: to ss. per case. Sydney mandarins sold from 7s. to os. per bushel ease; Queensland pines realised Ss. to 10s. per case, and passion fruit in half gin-boxes, sold at Gs. Gd. to Si. Tie melons arrived in large numbers on Thursday last, and sold from 9d. to Is. fid. each. Choice dessert pears meet with keen competition, at 10s. to 12s. Gd. per bushel case. Other descriptions 7s. to Bs. fld. The market for apples has eased considerably. Epps's seedlings sold yesterday at 45. to -is. Gd., and other descriptions of cooking sorts quitted from +s. to Gs. Choice dessert apples aro plentiful, and low rates aro ruling. Hales are from 4s/ Gd. to 7s. Grapes are in good demand at "s. per lb., but there are very few available. Mildura and South Australian lemons are fairly plentiful, values ranging from 10s. to 12s. per case, according to size of fruit. ' Vegetables aTO plentiful, and all descriptions are ruling at low rates. Cabbages aro almost a glut on the market, and present values range from Gd. to Is. 9d.' per sack. Beetroot, 3s. to is.; parsnips, is. to 55.; leeks, 6s. to Bs. per sack; radish, Gd. to Is. dozen bundles; cauliflowers are plentiful, at .4s. to Bs. per sack; celery (choice), is. to Bs. dozen; inferior and small, Is. to 35.; white turnips, 2s. to 45.; pumpkins, 3s. to'4-s.; carrots, 2s. to 35.; potatoes, 7s. to' Bs. per sack.' Lettuce is plentiful at 6d. to Is. 9d. per sack. Swedes are selling at 2s. to 2s. 6d. per cwt.; spinach, 2s. Gd. to 3s.- pe~ case. Artichokes are slow of sale at 3s. per half-sack. Cut bldoms, etc., are in good demand. There was quite a good display in tho markets yesterday morning, including violet, anemones, jonquils, narcissi, freesias, and a good many other descriptions. High prices were secured for . all lines. The market for eggs is very weak, ■ and supplies are fairly plentiful. Yesterday s price was Is. Gd. per dozen for fresh. Poultry is in fair demand. Good hens are worth 29. Cd. to 3s. per pair, young Toosters 3s. to 45., and ducks ,4s. Gd. to ss. Gd.
