The fight between Mr. Taft nnd Mr. Roosevelt for tho Republican nomination for Hie Presidency continues with increasing bitterness. Mr. Taft has so far secured 128 of tho contestant voles at tho Chicago Republican Convention. Mr. Roosevelt's supporters aro indulging in violent recriminations against the Republican National Committee. One of them caused an unprecedented sensation by declaring that if Mr. Taft was nominated, it was possible that Mr. Roosevelt's supporters would divide tho Republican vote in tho National Electoral College, throwing the selection to tho Democrats. Mr. Roosevelt, in a speech at Oyster Bay, said ho intended to submit an unequivocal declaration in favour of women's suffrage at tho Chicago Convention.
