Tho Abbe Pitou, who was missing from Angers for three (lays, called on tho polico of Lyons and asserted that he h?.d been seized by a robber and carried off.in a. motor. After his disappearance Abbo Pitou's clothes were 'found on the Irank of a stream, labelled, "Death to a priest! Death to a robber of two thousand pounds of church moneys!" Pitoh has now confessed to the polico that tho story was an invention, and that ho had misappropriated tho money:
