FIRE IN CONSTANTINOPLE.
3 ONE HUNDRED HOUSES DESTROYED By Telegraph—Press Association—OopyTight (Rec. June i, 9.5 p.m.) , Constantinople, June 4. A fire in Staniboul destroyed a hundred houses, an area three-quarters of a mile square. Several mosques and annexes of mosques wore burned. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque itself escaped, except for one minaret. Great distress is probable Staniboul is one pf the. quarters of the city of C.'on>lsiiiliiioplo, and lit.- between the Golden Horn and the f-ca of Miirmoiii. The Mosque of Ahmed 1 is the mmmihl !ar«e«t in ihc city, and is the only Inside.-* (ho Kii.-iba at Mcccn that has mx minaret- It was built in IGUB-W by the young tjuHiin whojo muim it bears.
