!__* (To the Editor.) Sir,—Your correspondent "Anti-Ass" is rather unjust in his abuse of Die Oivil Sorvico Association. Despite the attitude of such. detractors, the association is making headway, and doing good work. In the matter of the Civil .Service Commission, it is surely the duty of tlio officers' organisation U> ask that it be placed in a position to watch over the interests of its members. It might possibly prove of assistanco to the Commission to ha.yo before it a representative who can act in something more than an individual capacity. This would not interfere with individuals stating their eases, and here "Anti-Ass" is under a misapprehension m assuming that the association wishes to supersede anyone. It must, however, in common fairness, be conceded a right of which, apparently, "Anti-Ass" is himself so jealous.—l am, etc., J. D. AVERY, General Secretary,
