Tho latest departure of Mr. Willis, Speaker of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, is a notification to members of the Assembly that" lie will not officially present them at the GovernorGeneral's levee on Monday next. Lord Dsnman's chamberlain explains that Mr. Willis suggested that members should have, cards for private , entree, but as. this was against tho rule, established sometime ago, Lord Denman tad declined to accede to the request. Mr. Willis, Speaker of tho Legislative Assembly, in speaking at tho turning of the first sod of the Werriwa railway, defended his actions in Parliament, claiming precedent. He claimed that since he had been Speaker he had secured the enfranchisement of 25 per cent, more people, »nd-had saved the State .£IOO,OOO.
