Y.M.C.A. OLD BOYS' CLUB.
On Thursday night the visiting Boj; Scouts were entertained by the Old Boys Club of the Y.M.C.A. at a concert, held in the large Assembly Hall. The hall was packed with an appreciative audienco of upwards of 100. Mr. H. W. Kersley, president of tho Y.M.C.A., briefly welcomed the visitors and expressed pleasure at such a representative gathering of Boy Scouts. Songs and recitations filled Iho first portion of the programme. Tne "Troubles of a Drill Sergeant" lent quite a military air to the programme, and was perhaps the most humorous item of nil. The "shadow sparring," single sticks displav, and the wrestling bout all kept the audience in a. simmer of excitement, and on the appearance of the Nigger Minstrel Troupe tho boys' enthusiasm was great. Altogether tlie concert was most enjoyable, and during the interval the visiting Chief Scoutmas.ter returned thanks for t!.o hospitality of the Wellington people. Cheers were given for the Wellingtpniane arid Mr. H. M. M'Leod also came in for an ovation.' There was a large attendance of the Boys' Institute and Y.M.C.A. Boys Department members among the nutliCl The meeting of the Old Boys' Club next week will take the form of a debate en "Is it in the best interests of the coiintrv for the Government to compete in private enterprise?" The usual Bible Class of the club will precede the meeting.
