At tho Supreme Court to-day, Mr. Justice Chapman granted decrees nisi in tho following undefended divorce cases:— Fiancesca Marta Max v. John .Max, on lh<> ground of desertion; Clara Iskirka v. John Iskirka, desertion and drunkenness; Isabella Grace Nation v. Charles Cecil Nation, misconduct; Elizabeth. Ann l'artridgo v. George Arthur Partridge, habitual cruelty and drunkenness; Timothy O'Snllivan v. Sarah Jane O'Sullivan, misconduct; Johanna Frederika Haigent v. Andrew- Haigent, desertion; Bertha Lurnia. Thompson v. George Albert Thompson, misconduct; Sarah Ann Pickering v. Matthew Edward Pickering, desertion; John Francis Booth v. Bridget Booth, (respondent) and Frederick Coatcs (corespondent), misconduct.
Charles W. Black, builder, was refused discharge from bankruptcy for twelve months, on account of the reckless manner in which, ho had undertaken contracts and misled creditors by a false bal-ance-sheet. Gisborne, May 20. Henry Lionel Eddy, alias Curry, was committed for sentence at Auckland for breaking, entering, and theft at tiie Toiaga Bay Ho.tcl" Ho stole ,£l2 and a gold ring. At tho Supreme Court to-day, Timothv Pickard Christian, a youthful Norfolk Islander, was found guilty of attempting to assault a little girl, aged five years, at Freeman's Bay. In reply to his Honour, the Crown Prosecutor said that prisoner hail just been released from gaol after serving a sentence of ten years and two Hoggings for assault. The Judge said that he would impose (he maximum penally provided for an. attempt to commit' nh assault of tiie sort set forth in the charge. A sentence of two years' imprisonment with hard labour was passed.
