The "Morning Post's" suggestion that tho cntento between France and Bt/itmin should become an alliance has auoused widespread comment. The "Spectator" cordially adrocitft/oa an alliance. The Paris correspondent of "Tho Dimes" says the entente is much more effective as a deterrent than an alliance would bft, except upon tho basis of an c/rerwhelming land force, which is not available. The "Manchester Guardian" says nil alliance is unnecessary. It would bo unwise to make tho international situation more unstable and greatly extend tho war area. May 2". "Le Temps" approves the discussion, but insists that neither side should propose anything which would increase its obligations without adequate compensation. Other French papers aro cautious in. their rein-arks on the subject. i
