MINERS' WAGES.
BRITISH COLLIERY CLOSES DOWN. Bj Telegraph—Press Association—Cottyri-sht. London, May 26. The Fogg Colliery, Redeliffe, Northumberland, has been closed owins to the minimum wage. Five hundred men hava been thrown out of work. At a meeting of tho Northumberland Miners' Wages Board, tho owners agreed to an advance of 33 per cent in wages. INCREASES DEMANDED. (Rec. May 27, 11 p.m.) London, May 27. Many mining districts in the English federated area are demanding-an increase of five per cent , in wages owing (0 the higher price of coal and tho nature of tho minimum wage awards.
