Mr. Lloyd-George, Chancellor of tho Exchequer, in a speech at Aberystwith, taking a metaphor from the Stock Exchange, said the Tory political "bears" hod circulated falsehoods about the Insurance Act, and tho market had been panicked momentarily, but the security was prices were rising and the Tories would have to pay a ruinous contango. COMPOSITORS IN PROTEST. (Rcc. May 27, 11 p.m.) London, May 27. Tho Compositors' Society is seeking to induce trade unions to Tofuse to work under the Insurance Act. It alleges that the Government is Riving contracts for insurance literature to firms which the Compositors' Society does not recognise. ■ A contango is the interest, per cent or per share, eharped by stock jobbers for carrying over a "bull" transaction to the next settlement day.
