MR. LLOYD-GEORGE.

ATTACK BY LORD SELBORNE. 0 — By 'Pelesrrapli—Press Association-Copyright London, May 21. Lord Selborne, in a speech at Bradford, animadverted upon Mr. LloydGeorge's recent references in the Hoiiso of Commons to the Duke of Devonshire, Mr. Lloyd-George's speech ho characterised as the introduction into public and political life of the fonllest measures of the illegitimate prize-ring. It ivas impossible to liold a man responsible for tho acts of his ancestors four hundred years ago. In a discussion on the Welsh Disestalilishment Bill in the House of Commons a few days ago Mr. Lloyd-George, Chancellor of the Exchequer, remarked that the Duke of Devonshire had issued a circular accusing the Government of "robbery of God"; yet the foundation of tho Duke's fortune lay in property taken from tho Church. Such an accusation should not be made by those whoso family trco was laden with tlie fruits of sacrifice.
