Y.M.C.A. OLD BOYS' CLUB.
Mr. Atkinson, chairman, presided at the meeting: of tho Oiri Boys' Club held last > Thursday, when Mr. T. Plant ea,vo nn address. Tho speaker chose for his eubject a "Young Man's J.ifo," and his address was listened to with keou interest 1)j- some thirty members. The, Bible Class hold previous to tho meeting was also well attended, tlic paper being given bv Mr. J. Selatcr. Tho room that has been nlloted to tho club is one of tao cosiest in the. association, and presents a very homely nppcaranco with a bright Blowing firo alight. Following tho meeting the Nigger Coons held a prnctico m preparation for the concert to lw eiy«u (o tlio'Boy Pcoufs who will lie in Wellington for General Badon-Powell's visit. , Many j other items have been included m cue | proTamnie, and the concert should be a j ?reat 'success. There will be no charp for ndmission. and nil old members oi tho Bovs' Department am invited. Tno various committees of the club nro now drawini' up a syllabus for the coming winter s work ami"it is hoped many old hoys of (ho association will come along on Thursdav nights. The basket ball team were successful in winning their match Inst W"dnc=dav. Competitions in pintr-porifr, nuoils bagatelle, and shooting will commence shortly, and a trophy hss been donated for same.
