~-« By tho Sydney steamer, 5.3. Maungamii, arriving at Wellington next Wednesday, tho Kev. Georgo Grubb, M.A., and party coino to New Zealand in order to conduct a series of meetings. They go iirst to Wangnnui to fulfil engagements undertaken for the annual fixture there known as the Wanganui Christian Convention, from June 2 to G. A few of Mr. Grubbs old friends are also arranging for a series of meetings in Wellington, from July 11 to "1 and a good deal of interest is being aroused in tho projected visit of the party to this city. This is also evident with regard to tho Auckland fixtures, which are from June 14 to 23. It is now rather more than twenty years since tho Rev Or. Grubb mado a memorable tour in Australia and New Zealand, speaking to crowded audiences in some of the Anglican cathedrals and other churches and halls. lie took the Opera House in Wellington, which was Veil filled. Quite a sensation was caused on one occasion when in a irreat missionary meeting, in 'jeelong the audience, in response to Mr. Grubb s powerful appeals, not only divested themselves of their cash, but also of their watches and jewellery, to .aid the foreign SbTau Irishman, and is of mission, and was in tho celebrated Grubb nartv on their ln.it visit to this part of the world. Mr. and Mrs. Grubb will proInblv stay in Wellington for a couple of dSviaftn their arrival from Sydney, and tfl be the guests of Captain and Mrs. Blackburne, at SC Hawker Street.
