General Baden-Powell should certainly have nothing to complain of by his reception in New Zealand, for in cich place that he will visit great preparations havo been made to afford him brilliant welcomes. When lie .-.t<;ns on to the platform of tho Town Hall on Wednesday evening next, he will speak to his hearers on "Scouting in War and Peace," and, with the aid of numerous interesting pictures which he obtained during the defence of Mafeking and elsewhere, ho should be

able to cover some extremely interesting ground. Tho public who intend attending the lecture hero are recommended to secure seats in advance nit the Dresden, and thus avoid any possible disappointment, as under no circumstances will General Baden-Powell give more than one lecture here. Boy Scouts in other centres are- displaying great keenness in Iheir desire to'seo their chief next week. Over three hundred will 1)6 coming to Wellington on Tuesday nnd Wednesday. Those arriving on Tuesday are: New Plymouth troop, 43; liiglcwcod, 7; Stratford, 3.V, Hawera, 23; Eltham, i; Normanby, 12; Napier, 21; Eke-t-ahiina, 12; Blenheim, 15; and on Wednesday, Wanganni, C 5; Toilding, 29; C'aitertoii, 2 r >; Featberstoi:, !). A ready response is being given by tho citizens of Wellington to an appeal for hospitality for these lads, who have in tho past taken sn enthusiastically to citizen training, and one hundred i.nd sixty haie been provided for.
