The geodetic survey of the Commonwealth which tho Government lias decided to undertake will occupy a generation, ami cost ljd. per square acre. Tho Surveyor-Generals' conference has recommended the Commonwealth' to authorise the creation of a hoard of examiners for surveyors, who, it is urged, should be admitted to the benefits of reciprocal arrangements existing .between the Australian States and New Zealand. TRANSFER CERTIFICATES. (Rec. May 21, 1.5 p.m.) Melbourne, May 23. The Surveyor's Confereuco lias recommended to the Australian -surveyors' hoards a form of certificates under the Real Property Act similar to that used for land transfers in New Zealand.
