Pockets Picked, The secretary of the Melrose Club communicated a report that four of their fifth-class members had had their pockets picked at Pctonn ground. .Mr. W. Hardhain stated that there were keys for each of the dressing-rooms on the ground and it was decided to draw the .Melrose Club's attention to the fact. Ex-Old Boys' Players. C. V. Fordham, T. M. Grace, B. Drake, and E. \V. Pearce, who had plaved in the now-disbanded Old Boys' s-enior team, applied for transfers to "tho Wellington. Club. The applications of Fordham, Grace, rind Drake were piiuitod, and Pcarcs's rerjne.st was referred to the Transfer Committee. I). (.'. Hay was granted a transfer from Old Boys to Wadeslown. Representative Matches. The Wairarapa Union wrote, saying that as their championship matches had only just started, they were unable U> fall in with Wellington's suggestion to play a representative match on .Tunc 1. Wairarapa hoped to he able to arrange a match witli Wellington later in the season. '■
It was reported that it had been finally decided that Rotorua will play Wellington, at Wellington, on Monday, Juno 3. ■ As a curtain-raiser to the WeliingionRoiorua, match, a game between the Wellington and Cliristclnirch Railway teams is to bo played. A suggestion that August 24 should be set aside for a match-with the Sydney University ieam was he'd over. Requests that Wellington representative teams should visit, Hawke's Bay and Marlborough were given some consideration, and then deferred. 'They are to bo dealt with as soon as possible. Messrs. Ilardliam, Atkinson, and Weir wcro appointed a committee to consider the matter of securing representative matches for (lie lower-grade teams. Other Business. The New Zealand Union notified that tho Wellington Union's application for reduction of tho rate of interest on tho balance of their loan had been held over for the new Management Committee to deal with. The secretary of the Hawke's Bay Union asked if teams, were granted re; dueed fares on suburban railway lines. — A reply to tho effect that the Wellington players pay ordinary suburban rates is to bo sent. THE WEDNESDAY Taking the play yesterday as a sample of Wednesday football, one would not be impressed. Tho Oriental-Athletic game was loose and uninteresting. There wire few passing rushes worthy of the game, and most of the play was haphazard and disjointed. ,
Athletic were the bolter of the two, and stuck together moro than their opponents,' who were weaker in the forward line. Christeson played a good individual game, but was not backed up as lie should have been, and after scoring he Menisci to "go oft'" somewhat. Cording and Gemmell also scored for Athletic, and Mouat converted for Hit; former. For Oriental, Whvte was the sole scorer. The game ondetl—Athletic, 11; Oriental, 3. .Air. G. Howe was referee, The- match between the Tramway arid Artillery was not played, presumably because Tramway do not intend to apologise to the referee. ASSOCIATION. IV.F.A. COMMITTEE MEETSj DISQUALIFIED FOB LIFE. The usual meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Football Association was held last evening, Mr. B, L. Salmon presiding. Corinthians wroto informing the committee that if, had been decided to enter" a second division team. Marist Brothers' School have decided to enter a sixth division team, A letter was received from Mr. C. Bromley; secretary of the Shannon Club, in which it was stated that they were desirous of affiliating with either.Wellington or Palmerston. It was stated that the cfnb had over 20 players registered. A renucsf. was made for particulars regarding affiliation, and also for a Wellington team to visit Shannon on June 3. It was decided to send a second division team to Shannon on the date mentioned.
The question of clubs being affected by tho military parade on June 1 was discussed. It was decided to write secretaries asking for particulars of the number of players in tho various clubs who would be unable to take part in matches, a reply to bo sent to the secretary by Monday, May 27. A decision on the matter will be made nt next Wednesday's meeting of tho committee.
Mr. _T. Thompson, referee in the St. Dnvid's-.lohnsonville match, wrote stating that he had occasion to stop the gamo last Saturday on account of spectators in(rrforing with (lie Johiisonvillu linesman. The writer suggested 'that in future a city refereo be placed in charge of games at Petone.
Tho case of Roberts, of the Diamonds Club, who was ordered off the field by the referee (Mr. Windlcy) came up. After further evidence it was decided that Roberts be exonerated from the charges made against him.
Evidence in the case in which S. Bolton, of the Peiono Club, was ordered off tile field in the Pctono-Johnsonrille match for kicking the- referee and using certain language, was completed last evening. It was decided that Bolton be suspended for life and warned off all grounds under the jurisdiction of the Wellington Football' Association. Regarding the alleged action of tho referee (Mr. Wyntt) in striking the player Bolton, it was decided after hearing tho referee's evidence, he be thanked for his attendance, and that he be exonerated from the charges made against him bv tho player. The secretary of the St. David's Club (Petonp) wrote stating that tho greater part of the Fifth B team journeyed to Wellington to play Pmima last Saturday before it was known that the fixture was declared off. A refund of ss. train fare was asked for and granted. Tho match St. David's v. .lohnsonville, played last Saturday, was allowed to stand. The following additional fixtures have been made in connection with Saturday's games :— • Second Division. Corinthians v. Y.M.C.A., at Mirsmnr, No. 8 (3). Sixth B Division. Marist B v. Thorndon Marist, at Miraniar, No. 2. The St. David's-St. John's match has been cancelled. A South Canterbury Association has been formed nt Timaru and district, and formal application has been made to the New Zealand Football Association for uftilintirti:
