(flv Telegraph—Special Correspondent.) Wanganui, Mav 22. Councillor J. Calver has resigned from the Wanganui Borough Council, making a third vacancy to be filled. Tho borough engineer trouble cropped up again at the Borough Council meeting _last night when the Mayor moved a motion disapproving of the action of the engineer in withholding from him (tho Mayor) information on borough matters, and directing that he should not do so in future. An 'amendment was carried deleting the expression of disapproval, but practically carrying the remainder of tho Mayor's motion with an addition that councillors should also have the samo right as the Mayor of obtaining information. Several other motions of the Mayor were defeated and the council carried a resolution (which the Mayor opposed) that in the future the engineer should havo full control of the staff.
