(Before Mr. W. G. Riddel], S.M.) SHIP DESERTERS. For having deserted tho steamer Karamea, Joseph M'Lean, a fireman, was sentenced to one week's imprisonment. It was stated that he had been found on board tho Ulimaroa working as a trimmer/ Jeremiah Keohane was sentenced to ono month's imprisonment for having deserted the steamer Kin Oro. OTHER CASES. Ernest Davis was fined .£2 for having interfered with Constable Canning when the latter was arresting another man. For insobriety, Thomas Swan was fined 10s., and Charles Daniels ,£2. Margaret Webb wa.s sent to the Salvation Army Home for six months for having importuned passers-by in Ghuzneo Street.
