Tho convention felt that the time, was not opportuno, but it emphatically adheres to the principle of the bare majority. At the annual conference of tho New South Wales Alliance, lield in Sydney on May 2, a motion in favour of amending tho Liquor Act so as to provide for a straight-out vote with a simple majority to decide was negatived by 2i votes to 13.
