AUSTRALIAN MISSIONS.
Tho balance-sheet of the Australian Board of Missions, which has just been issued for the year ended March 31, shoes a verv satisi'actoiy state of affairs. The total incomo from Australia alone has amounted to iUl,Bsr> 13s. ikl. The corresponding figures for tho previous year were i:BtiGl. In each of tho two years 1807-1909 tho total Australian contributions appear not to have reached JiliOCO. Each of Alio threo mission fields—New Guinea, Aborigines (Yarrabar and Mitchell River), and Melanesia—has benefitted by tho increased income. Now Guinea received «£sl!>3, as against ,£3020 two years ago; Tarrabali, .£I3OB, as against .£700; Mitchell River, .£937, ns against ,£148; Melanesia, ,£2441, as against .£2052. Tho total amount of organisation charged to tho associated missions for tho past year was under X9OO. The "A.B.M. Review" considers that thero is cause for continued anxiety on behalf of both the New Guinea and aboriginal missions. Their incomes during tho past year, though abuormally high, are yet barely sufficient for their actual needs.'
