LOAFERS CONDEMNED.
SIR R. BADEN-POWELL'S VIEWS. By Telecraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, May 17. Lieutenant-General Sir Robert BadenPowell severely condemns loafers. He includes in the category people of leisure, who frivol away their lives equally with the tramp who refuses to work. "It may bo observed that a fair proportion of ladies are in the samo line of business. Tho waste of human bodies and souls is appalling." Referring to tho woman who tries to learn to play tho piano, he remarked that that wou'd not help her to play a harp in tho next world. Ho blames lookers-on at football and other sports. Spectators are too lazy to play themselves.
The General indicated that scouting was a panacea, by developing character, hononr s pluck, observation, deduction, self-reliance, energy, chivalry, proficiency in handicrafts, and public service.
