OTAGO'S RAILWAY WANTS.
DEPUTATIONS TO MR. MYERS,

Dunedin, Hay 17. The Hon. A. M. Myers, Minister fol Railways, who returned from Invercargiil this morning, was waited on by two deputations, tho first representing the Green Island and Mosgiel residents who urged a bettor train service to Mosgiel and several other improvements of a minor nature.
Mr. Myers promised a better train service, but inuioated that tho other re l quests would liovo to stand down owing to other and more urgent requirements. Another deputation urged the prosecution of the Otago Central and LawrenceRoxburg railways, Tho Minister P!'onl'B- - to give careful consideration to tho matter when it came before Cabinet. Ho intended going into the question of petrol engines ns soma portions of the country would not justify the laying down of heavy lines.
