SHIPPING MISHAPS.
ROTOITI SLIGHTLY DAMAGED,
A rumour was going the rounds yesterday to tho effect that the Union Co,'a steamer Kotoiti 3i&d mot with a serious mishap at. Now Plymouth on Thursday. ,0n inquiry at tho local office of tho company it was imsrtainod that tho vessel liftd touched tho breakwater whilst leaving tho port for Onehungn and had had two platos slightly dented. Sho arrived at her destination, yesterday morniug and according to advico received the Blight damage sustained would in no way interfere with the vessel's movements. It was'expected that the Kotoiti would leave Onehunga for New Plymouth and Wellington at daybreak to-day.
MISHAP ON MAUNGANUI. When tho Union Company's inter-colo-nial steamer Maunganui' was proceeding down tho harbour outward bound to Sydney la/jt ovening sho was observed to stop in the vicinity of Point Malswoil. The delay wae caused by a Blight mishap in the engi no-room. After a little time the Maunganui proceeded an her way and cleared tho Heads at 7.15 p.m. Sho left tho Queen's Wharf at 5.13 p.m.
