CRICKET.
COMING EVENT NEXT SUMMER.
For some time past efforts havo been made by that rather alert body—the Wellington Wednesday Cricket Association— to bring over « team of Australian cricketers to-tour New Zealand next summer, playing mid-week representatives. In this movement that well-known enthusiast, Mr. A. A. George, of Wellington, has largely interested himself, and on a recent holiday visit to Australia, ho entered into preliminary negotiations in regard to the matter. Thoso negotiations will probably bo successful. The following letter, from a. very well-known world's cricketer, speaks for itself: — Dear Mr. GeorgeVery glad to bear that tho cricketers over on your side are so enthusiastic re our proposed visit. The players hero directly interested are also vorv Keen, on it. It only remains for the V.C.A, to fall in -with us, and arrange the programme of matches for the pennant hero to make the trip a certainty. . . . Mr. Baragawamath (president of the club) has interested himself in the matter and intends accompanying us on tho tour.— Yours sincerely, HARRY TROTT.
