RECEPTION OF NEW COMMISSIONER

Tho Salvation Army authorities in Wellington have just received full particulars. in connection with the welcome meetings to be given Commissioner Win. J. Richards, recently appointed by General Booth to the territorial command of New Zealand. The Commissioner and Mrs. Richards and family are now on their way from London to the Dominion, and are due to reach this city on Wednesday, June 12. Tho public reception has been arranged to take place in the 'Army's Citadel, Vivian Street, Thursday, June 13. All New Zealand provincial commanders will be present for the occasion, end tho whole of tho Wellington province fieid officers hare been instructed to attend. Lieut.* Colonel Fisher, the new chief secretary for the Dominion, will bo in charge of the proceedings. Officers' councils will bo conducted bv tho Commissioner on Friday, Juno 11, all day, in Wellington. On Saturday tho various social and rescue institutions will be officially inspected. The Sunday meetings are to be held in tho Opera 'House. Manners Street, Commissioner Richards baing in command. Almost immediately following tho Wellington meeting?, tho Commissioner will broceed to tho South Island, conducting gatherings in Ohristchurch, Invcrcargill, and ihmedin in tli.it order. From Dunedin ho will return to Wellington, and go on to Auckland. Tiio Commissioner lyrill probably call at Palmerston North on liis return journey from Auckland._ !On Wednesday, July 10, the .Commissioner returns to Wellington', and from thence forward will conduct Salvation Army affairs from the new Dominion headquarters, winch have been secured at the corner of TaranaM and Dixon Streets, Courtcnay I'iace. .Commissioner Richards has a long and varied experience, and n.s one of tho leading men in the organisation his advent to Hie Dominion is hailed with satisfaction by Salvationists. The second in command the new territory is Lieut.Coionel Fisher, the chief secretary. He and his wife arc both native-Lorn Now Zealanders. Colonel Fisher has been tho financial secretary for Australasia for many years liast.
