KING'S BIRTHDAY.

PARADES AT LOCAL CENTRES.

A district order issued yesterday by Colonel E. W. C. Chaytor, commanding the Wellington' Military District, announces that the troops (staff, permanent force, territorials, and senior cadets) at all local centres in the Wellington district will parade June 3, in honour of the birthday of his Majesty, the' King. As previously stated, the trcops in the Wellington group will be reviewed by his Excellency the Governor at Newtown Park, and a royal salute of 21 guns will be fired. The troops- at Palmerston North, Wanganui, New Plymouth, Napier, Hastings, Gisborne, and Masterton will be reviewed at 12' noon by tho senior oflicer present at each place. Tho troops at all other squadron and company centres will parade under tho 6enior local officer,- and, where there are not sufficient troops to hold a review, will co-operate with any celebrations conducted by the civil authorities.

Every effort must be made to obtain as large a muster as possible, but no expenditure for bringing men in from outlying drill centres will be authorised. All parades will he formed up for inspection at 12 noon. 'Where a review is held the procedure will be on the lines of a programme to be issued later. W 7 here no review is held the troops will be inspected by the senior officer present, and will afterwards give a royal salute, sing ono verse of the National Anthem, and give three cheers for his Majesty the King.

Veterans, officers on the Teserve, and retired list, members of Parliament, and members of municipal bodies are invited to attend.

Tho parade on the King's Birthday will count as a whole day parade, and any parade held for the purpose of rehearsal will count as a half-day parade.
